VNtG 1930s 40s Black Carved Buckle Bangle Bracelet bakelite look Celluloid Deco

Description

Beautifully hand carved 1930s to 1940s era bangle. Dark jet black that looks exactly like Bakelite plastic however it does not test positive for it. Same presentation and feel, but we believe it is a different type of early plastic. Intricate & deep carving of a buckle with a featured look. Pretty scalloped / curved sides, all made form a single piece of plastic. Slip on fit, buckle is purely decorative.
Really a great deal of handiwork in this vintage piece, and it works well with Victorian, Art Deco, and later into the 1940s looks & styles. Great vintage condition, there is some scuffing and light scratching on smooth surfaces visible under close inspection that shows it's age but does not detract from the piece. Measures 2.5 inches across at opening, and buckle feature is about 3 inches long on bangle.
